Seeking the Great Perhaps
Is it worth it? 🤔
“I go to seek a great perhaps.”
This line crossed my mind this week for unknown reasons. These are the last words of the French poet Francois Rabelais which I’ve first read from John Green’s book entitled “Looking for Alaska.”
Seeking a “great perhaps” means taking a great risk to reach something that may not exist. It is steering away from the comfortable certainties of our lives. It’s learning something new, taking risks, and taking the leap of faith.
Sometimes, it is the “leap of faith” that can jump us from “what we are” to “what we want to be.”
We often limit ourselves to stay where we are right now because we focus too much on our fear of failure rather than the possibility of succeeding when we take a step outside our comfort zone. However, this should not be the case.
If you’re someone who’s afraid of being stuck in your life, maybe this is the sign to take that jump.
When you reach this point in your life, will it be scary? Yes, and it is completely normal to be scared of doing something new.
Will it be worth it to take risks? It will depend on what you do after your jump.
Will it be easy? Nothing in this world is ever easy.
Seeking the great perhaps is definitely worth it when you discover new paths, learn new things, and meet new people. These things can navigate the direction of your life to an even better destination.
It is seeking the great perhaps that gets you out of your comfort and awaken the adventurous spirit in yourself. So, keep the faith and take the jump. 🏃
